What could be better than a nice scoop of ice cream on a warm, sunny afternoon or evening? For some, that might be a grown-up boozy scoop of ice cream!

According to a report by Bloomberg News, the demand and total revenue being generated across the U.S. for alcohol-infused ice cream products had surpassed $335 million by 2019, and that number is expected to reach more than $450 million by 2025.

As states across the U.S. also legalize retail cannabis products and sales, the normalcy of consumers seeking and consuming alcohol or cannabis infused treats is expected to grow.

Alcohol infused ice cream has been a rising trend in the last several years.

An Oregon based ice creamery partnered with popular Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds’ gin company, Aviation American Gin, to actually make a gin and tonic flavored ice cream! We’d be curious to see how it tastes!

Cruise Lines Dive Right In

The Jimmy Buffet inspired Margaritaville at Seas became the third cruise brand in two years to make alcoholic ice cream available on their vessels! As did Virgin Voyages and Royal Caribbean who were the first two.

The Margaritaville at Sea, shipping off regularly from Florida to the Bahamas, has partnered with a New York branded adult-only ice cream purveyor, Tipsy Scoop, to supply its boozy ice cream and other frozen treats. This locale sells flavors like Vanilla Bean Bourbon, Cake Batter Vodka Martini, or a Classic Lime Margarita Sorbet.

With these treats increasing in popularity, look out for a freezer section at your local liquor store. Now you don’t have to choose between a sweet treat, or getting a good drink, just have both at the same time! It's the perfect finish to a cheeseburger in paradise!
